We all have a purpose in life, and our timing on this planet is no accident. Having developed a new hunger for the Lord, I began seeking to really know Him. Our time here is limited, and there is a destiny God has for each of our lives. Something was missing. " Lord, I feel as if I am just sitting on the bench watching the game?" I said.

I put efforts into changing my career path so my talents and gifts could be used to glorify God. "Not yet my child, I have other plans for you." I sensed this in my spirit ever so gently and quietly. Was this God's voice, I wasn't really sure? I figured it would be loud, strong and bold, and quite frankly, terrifying. I had developed an insatiable hunger for the Word, I couldn't figure out what God was going to do with me. Was I too old, and too messy to be used? (Isaiah 1:18) I really just wanted to help people in a way that would glorify God. (Phil 2:13)

I hung my head on the bench and waited, worshipped, prayed and waited some more. Geeze is a ticket for heaven coming soon? Maybe He didn't want to start a work in me He couldn't finish. (Phil 1:6) Then things began to change...and change they did. I was frequently getting woken up in the middle of the night to pray. (I've heard it said "maybe you didn't spend enough time with the Lord during the daylight hours"). I can't win here. (Matt 11:29)

"Be Still and Know that I am God" (Psalms 46:10)...always liked that verse but never actually applied it to me for some reason. I challenge you to be still with the Lord, and see what happens…

I humbly offer my hand as a vessel to be used for the Glory of God. Who would think He could use someone like me? In this season I have been called off the bench. I intend to play the game which I AM called, wearing the helmet of Salvation, the breastplate of Righteousness, I  shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of Peace, the belt of Truth, the sword of the Spirit, and the shield of Faith.
